Happen

from The Aposoul by Jackson Whalan

/

about

Happen is a sixteen bar verse that explores Jackson's passion for rapping, with emphasis on unconventional rhythmic patterns that change constantly throughout. The content of the song/interlude is more about the sonic quality and and poetic phrasing than it is about the subject matter and content, although the lyrics are meant to reflect the dance of the psyche from being high to low, confidence to doubt, dark/light, yin and yang, ending up in a state of imagination of non-duality, and what it means to rap and be a rapper, to be committed to oneness, to life that life, and to share that in a prophetic fashion. The verse is the voice of the rapper talking to himself or the voice in his head that creates a "racket" of self-doubt. Jackson is also describing the feeling of people who are quick to judge, or gossip, or to give up support out of jealousy, but who aren't taking action in there own lives. This is a reflection of his own mind battling itself, with the acknowledgement that truth lies in all perspectives.

lyrics

Gossip happens, talking while I'm rapping in passionate action/ Love gaining traction collective reaction/ Now the everlasting with angels dispatching/ Crossing paths and crafting a continuous caption, imagine/ Super unspoken stoked and heartbroken taken a token/ Drama soaked in lost hope and better rope the boat in/ Now your toastin' limping loafing/Soul stolen not your opponent, don't condone it self you own it/ Noticing the boasting dosed in a liquid ocean/Devotion is the purest notion/What are you supposing or just posing?/Alone in a omen I'm a rogue of emotion/Time is frozen in days of olden, shaping molding the moment/Making it getting it going, not battle, truth in all sides of the fractal/Sacred praise, like cattle in India/Gettin' into yah, blowing up but is being gifted enough?
